Dear Retailer,

You have an opportunity to help bring about peace in the world, starting right here in your place of business.

Here in New Zealand, as in many other nations, a movement is growing to avoid buying U.S. brands. People participating in a Spend for Peace campaign are choosing where to spend their money. We want to promote peace by sending a clear message to the U.S. government that its aggressive actions will not be tolerated by the rest of the world, and we are sending that message by refusing to buy U.S. brands and buying alternatives wherever possible.

We ask you to join in with us. Please do not promote or feature U.S. brands. Please do promote and make accessible the alternatives whenever possible. We recognise that you are offered various incentives and pressures to feature certain lines or products, but we ask you to resist as much as is feasible for you. And if you can, inform the U.S. brands sales-reps, marketing people, etc., about your decision.

If we all pull together we can curb the U.S. government’s aggression. We can all do our part to make our world a more peaceful place.
